Advanced Beginner

This class is appropriate for dogs and puppies 6 months of age or older. Dogs should have basic obedience commands in this class, ideally trained in the presence of distractions (i.e., sit, down, come, etc . . .). Handlers will be taught how to train their dogs to negotiate all agility obstacles. The focus is on individual obstacle negotiation, as opposed to sequencing. This class is meant as a continuation of the Foundation Skills/Beginning Agility class and it is a prerequisite. Certain dogs and handlers meeting the necessary skills taught in the Foundation Skills/Beginning Agility class may be exempt, and may join the Advanced Beginner Class with prior authorization by the instructor.
