APDT Rally Obedience

NEW! APDT Rally-O: From rules of competition to navigating courses, whether you aim to compete for titles or just have fun with your dog, this is the class for you!

Rally-O is the newest titling dog sport, mixing components of traditional obedience and agility with an enthusiastic & good-humored attitude! This exciting team sport for dog and handler requires you to work together as you steer through a course designed by a rally judge. Along the way, you and your dog must perform certain exercises as indicated by numbered signs – everything from sits, stands, jumps, 360’s, weaves and more!

APDT Rally is open to all dogs – mixed breeds and purebreds, puppies and seniors, those with disabilities and everyone in between! The emphasis is on dog and handler working together in a positive manner rather than on precision of obedience exercises. Dogs enrolling in this class should have a foundation in basic obedience (sit, down, stay, wait & polite leash walking).

This class will meet for six weeks. Each week we will focus on how to perform individual exercises with a short practice course at the end of class. At the end of the 6 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to run through an APDT Level I course with an informal score sheet to take with you! And if you’re headed for the competition ring – we’ll help you to prepare!

Cancellation policy for all Happy Tails Obedience programs:
We depend on meeting our enrollment numbers to start each class, so your withdrawal may affect class schedules.
•If you withdraw prior to the start date and outside of the 36 hours prior to the scheduled start time, there is a $25 fee.
•If you withdraw from class within 36 hours of the scheduled start time, there is a $50 fee.
•There are no refunds after class begins.
Occasionally, we may need to postpone a class based on low enrollment, but it is unfair to do so on such short notice
